Six new topics included in the Security Awareness Library

The importance of security awareness among employees

Open today’s newspaper and there is a good chance you will read about about a new hack, phishing attack or other type of security incident. The negative consequences for the companies involved make us all realize it is crucial to protect information. To do so, you need to take both technical and human aspects into account. Especially the latter should not be forgotten, as reality shows us humans are often the weakest link in protecting information. Losing sensitive or personal data can happen any moment of inattention. To prevent this, you need to transform your employees from the weakest link into the first line of defense.

With over 18 years of experience in developing and implementing security awareness campaigns, we believe a security aware corporate culture can only be achieved through continuous education. If newly acquired knowledge and skills are not applied directly, learning content will not be remembered in the long term. You may also know this as the forgetting curve. Only through regular repetition, newly acquired knowledge will stick in the hearts and minds of your organization. For that reason, we have developed our Security Awareness Library.

Security Awareness Library

In the Security Awareness library, all our available security awareness topics are included. These topics are offered using different digital learning formats. Three different types of e-learning are included as well as our One Minute Security Flash awareness videos. As a library subscriber, you can freely use all available content. This allows you to offer security awareness training all year long. Thanks to the different formats, you can refresh learning topics that have been offered before. In addition, during the agreed license period you will receive access to all new programs that will be added to our ever expanding library. That is exactly what we did for our current library subscribers!

Two new in-depth e-learning modules have been included: a module about cyber security and a module about securely using mobile devices. These in-depth modules provide additional training with more detailed instruction on the specific subjects. Using film clips, eye catching content, exercises and a concluding self-test, a comprehensive e-learning program is provided that takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Besides the two new in-depth modules, four new security awareness videos have been developed and added to the Security Awareness Library. New topics are social engineering, access control, social media & working in the cloud and information classification. These videos can be used in various ways. They can be included in short microlearning modules or offered as a stand-alone learning solution, for instance in a mobile learning application or on your intranet.

All our library modules are standard available in nine languages. Three of these languages are offered at no extra costs. However, since we all prefer learning material in our mother tongue, any other language can be delivered. In total, 28 different topics are now included in our Security Awareness Library:
